About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate on-site Health Care Assistant (HCA) Instructor to support and guide students through their Theory, laboratory and clinical training in Campbell River, BC helping prepare them for successful entry into the healthcare workforce.
This position plays a key role in ensuring students receive a comprehensive, hands-on educational experience that meets both regulatory standards and industry expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge, a supportive teaching approach, and a commitment to student success.
This Part-Time role offers variable hours and has the potential to lead to future advancements within the college.
Start Date : Tuesday February 10, 2026
Rate Range: $33 to $35/hour
Schedule : Tuesday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, providing guidance and support throughout.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with course objectives.
- Supervise students during clinical placements, ensuring safe, ethical, and competent care practices.
- Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity or mental health or Acute Care.
- Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required.
- Previous instructor experience is an asset.
- Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
- Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
- Ability to travel to local sites withing region.
- In a Long-term Care facility in Canada within the last two years, or relevant experience.
